Wah Lum Kung Fu Disciple Ceremony: Grandmaster Pui Chan inducts 3 disciples of Wah Lum
On November 2, 2021 we celebrated the Wah Lum Temple’s 41st anniversary! In addition this past weekend concluded the Wah Lum Sifu Certification, which occurs every three years. Sifus from around the globe spent over 40 hours testing, training and meeting to maintain the Wah Lum tradition and standard. The testing was overseen by Grandmaster Chan and Sifus: Mimi Chan, Bob Rosen, George Kee and Tu Truong.

In addition, we celebrated the induction of 3 students of Grandmaster Chan as disciples: Bob Rosen, George Kee and Tu Truong.

The tradition of discipleship is when the Master accepts a student who has shown dedication, and loyalty to his teachings for several years. A disciple upholds the principles of the Wah Lum martial arts altar:
To respect Grandmaster, Respect their Sifu and Respect their teachings.
To learn kindness, fellowship and hard work.
To uphold the philosophy of fo gee do jun - our fire sign upside down symbol for patience and control.

These students are now invited to “enter the door” as a disciple of Grandmaster Pui Chan in the kung fu world to help preserve the Wah Lum system in perpetuity. They will help protect and propagate the Wah Lum system.

As disciples, they will assist Mimi Chan, who will carry on the traditions of her father to continue proliferating the system and ensuring its authenticity. Grandmaster Pui Chan and Master Suzy Chan has worked hard over the past 50+ years to promote and make Wah Lum a household name all over the world. They are confident that with Mimi, these disciples will continue that mission and legacy.

We congratulate disciples of Grandmaster Pui Chan: Bob Rosen, George Kee and Tu Truong on this momentous occasion. Congrats to all the Sifus who certified this weekend to continue the tradition that Grandmaster Chan started over 50 years ago.
