From 23 years ago today, Buffy The Vampire Slayer on UPN station WWOR-TV (channel 9) in Secaucus, New Jersey, serving New York City. Buffy moved to UPN that fall after 5 seasons on The WB.
WWOR was not owned by UPN at that point because Fox was taking control of the network's stations. UPN's future was up in the air, but in 2003, the network renewed its contract with the Fox-owned stations through 2006. Said contract led to MyNetworkTV's launch in the fall of 2006, and now WWOR is owned by them.
