A study in algorithmically generating & controlling Point Clouds. Some of the methods explored were:
Size constrained Circle Packing
Boundary constrained Circle Packing
Image controlled Circle Packing
Ellipse Packing
Recursive Voronoi
Delaunay Relaxation
The platform used in all these studies was Rhino+Grasshopper. Real time performance of the Circle Packing & Voronoi/Delaunay algorithms is about as fast as seen here, though the Ellipse Packing algorithms are about a third of the speed shown here.
