Winchelsea green Land Rover Defender 110 soft top by Lucari Design

BRIEF
Create a timeless 110 soft top that takes inspiration from the first Land Rover that rolled off the production line back in 1948 (the iconic HUE 166) and the 1999 heritage limited edition Defenders finished in Deep Bronze green.

We managed to source a very low mileage 2014 2.2 TDCI 110 pick up with only 14,500 miles. Body type: Pick-up

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION
It was in very good condition. As part of the colour change the body panels were removed which resulted in a great opportunity to steam clean the chassis and paint it so it is protected for years to come.

BODY
It was completely stripped down and colour changed to Winchelsea green a unique colour that we feel is the perfect successor to the Deep Bronze green used on the 1999 heritage it was then reassembled using stainless steel fixings. Anyone who has driven a Defender pick up will know how restrictive they are with leg room so we have installed the bulkhead deletion bar which allows the front seats to recline back further. The new front bumper and side steps have been painted silver to tie in with the other contrast silver components on the build such as the edge of the heavy-duty steel wheels and door hinge kit. Half height Series style doors have been used to continue with the classic theme and the door tops can be removed if required. It comes with a sand canvas hood however we suspect that the future owner will remove the canvas top for most of the year and enjoy the Defender with to roof off. We have installed a heavy-duty hood stick that have integrated front seat belt mounts and offer some addition safety over a standard hood stick set. The standard rear tailgate has been removed and replaced with an upgraded side hinged tailgate and a swing away spare wheel carrier which results in maximum space within the vehicle and makes it easier to get in and out.

INTERIOR
8 seat interior finished in fluted tan leather. The front seats are Recaro cross sportster CS seats retrimmed in smooth tan colour leather with matching cubby box, 6 individual rear inward facing seats, sun visors, dashboard, and door cards. The steering wheel is a UK Manufactured wooden steering wheel by Moto Lita.

AUDIO
Bluetooth single din stereo along with Audison speakers that have been carefully built into the original dash board location and additional speakers added to the rear load area.

Wheels
We knew we didn’t want alloy wheels on a classic build but so we have opted for heavy duty wolf style steel wheels and have finished them in body colour with a silver contrast edge. 235 85 R16 Good Year wrangler MTR tyres have then been installed.
