Russia's latest attempt to test its RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), also known as the SS-X-30 Satan II, ended in a catastrophic failure, marking the fourth failure for this missile. Satellite images revealed a 200-foot-wide crater and extensive damage at the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, with multiple fire trucks on-site. The Sarmat ICBM is designed to deliver nuclear warheads over 11,000 miles but has faced repeated delays and setbacks, worsened by international sanctions and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Despite this failure, Russia maintains the world's largest nuclear arsenal, with nearly 6,000 warheads, surpassing the United States' stockpile of over 5,200. What does this mean for Russia's missile capabilities?
