Julia - All I Want (Love and Devotion)

So here is the first song I ever wrote that was released professionally (up till that time I was in a high school band, playing keyboards and writing songs). Back in 1994-95 I was just finishing up University (Bachelor of Music) and I was wanting to release a song. I was living in Ottawa, Canada. At that time, lots of dance music was coming out of Montreal, Gatineau and Toronto. Through networking I was invited to go to Montreal to meet someone in the music business (sorry can't remember the name). That person picked me up and drove me to Montreal. On the way back I had a song come to my head. That was the pre-chorus and chorus of "All I Want". I soon after wrote the rap lyrics. Since I was new to the game, my girlfriend and I, at the time, thought the best way to get the song out was to find people in the "business" that was releasing music and having success. I ended up contacting "Creative Partners" who were doing music for Emjay, Jefferson Project etc ... I let them hear my song and they agreed to produce it for $600. That was a lot of money for me, but I figured it was my best shot at getting a song out. They re-wrote the rap lyrics and produced the song. I figured I had to let them do their thing as I wanted the song to come out. The next time I remember hearing from them is when they told me it was out on Numuzik. I quickly ran to HMV and bought the compilation. And so it began ....
