I got a business trip to Tampa Bay, Florida.
It was not a busy trip so I brought my fishing gear.
Telescopic rod (1), 2000 spinning rod (1), and a few lures.
I couldn't bring heavy gear so I had no choice but to do finesse fishing.
On the reel, I got 5 lbs of test braid to pair with my custom-made metal jig.
I don't mind if it is big game fishing or finesse fishing.
I only care if I enjoyed it or not.
Sometimes fish, sometimes no fish.
That's fishing, isn't it? lol
To me, the point is perfect to enjoy fishing.
Deep enough, lots of bait fish, water color, and not so many people.
It is the place I want to fish again.
I want to try heavier gear next time for bigger fish :)
The small metal jig is the one I designed for surf fishing.
California Beach is not deep. We can get a better chance with slow-sinking lures in California. We actually have many good lures. Fishermen are using jerk baits diving 1-4 ft or slow sinking lures. But we have not so many options for metal jigs. So I make my own metal jigs, sinking slower and appeals more. It is still a prototype. I'm going to make few more designs and hopefully make a better one for shallow surf fishing.
