Project Tamiya CC01 Camel Trophy - How to make a Camel Land Rover Defender P2 - Truck Finished!

Welcome to Part 2 of my latest Tamiya RC project, turning my tired old CC-01 Landfreeder into a replica Camel Trophy Land Rover Defender. In this episode I finally get phase 1 of the build complete, ready to run. More work will be done upgrading this CC01 in the future, but at least now it's good to go!

In this Part 2 of the build, I apply the decals to the body, paint and fit all the off-road accessories, find a way of fitting the body to the chassis without using body posts and create a very basic interior. At the end of the video you can see how it goes in a short test run in the garden.

So what is a Camel Land Rover? Occasionally called "The Olympics of 4x4", Camel Trophy was a competition that was held annually between 1980 and 2000, and it was best known for its use of Land Rover vehicles over challenging terrain. The event took its name from its main sponsor, the Camel cigarette brand.
Thanks to @Andy Robinson RC for the following information: Did you know the first camel trophy vehicles were actually Jeeps. Land Rover took over it though , the first Land Rovers they used were Series 3’s before they used the 90/110, later rebadged as "Defender" in 1990.

I was inspired to start this project after seeing the fantastic job that Dom @RC-DOM-UK made of his conversion from a CC-01 Unimog to the Camel Defender that you see in this video and in the thumbnail. He kindly sent me his spare sticker sheet (and other goodies) for my own Camel Trophy project.
I must also say another massive thank you to my friend Steve @RC Crawlers Mid-Wales for sending me a bunch of crawler accessories to add to my truck. As ever, I'm doing this one on a tight budget so all help is gratefully received.
