According to the most recent updates coming from Mirror Now, Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan walked out of jail on Thursday, a day after the sureties required for his bail were submitted in court. Kappan has been released from jail, a senior official said here. Kappan and three others were arrested in October 2020 while on their way to Hathras, where a Dalit woman died allegedly after being raped. Kappan was arrested under tough anti-terror laws. and police had strong proof against Kappan that he came from Kerala to uneasy the state of Uttar Pradesh at a time when Hathras' gangrape and murder case was in the headlines.
