The Hearpeers Anniversary Concert: Ruth’s Music Story

Ruth has played music since she was a child and began playing clarinet when she was already wearing hearing aids. Although she stopped playing for several years, she resumed playing when she received her bilateral cochlear implants. Ruth loves listening to music and hearing herself play in “stereo” now.

In September 2025, Ruth and eight other Hearpeers Mentors from around the world traveled to Innsbruck, Austria, to perform at the Hearpeers Anniversary Concert.

These hearing implant users took to the stage to showcase their musical talents, performing a range of genres, from Austrian folk music to self-composed Spanish rock ballads. The Hearpeers Anniversary Concert was a moving reminder of the life-changing potential of hearing implants.
