Long story short, the overclock is really good!
The idea behind the build is rather simple; use the Conductive Thermals status effect to increase the Boomstick's damage output and take out tanky targets.
What is it good against? Dreadnoughts (both normal and weak variants), Bulk Detonators, Oppressors, Barragers, Breeders, Menaces and Patrol Bots (CT makes them very easy to overheat).
What does it struggle against? Mactera and Spitters.
While Conductive Thermals + Shaped Shells is a solid loadout on its own, it has even greater potential in teamplay scenarios. In the case of fire comp, Conductive Thermals can boost the damage of every other class; Flamethrower, EPC (TCF & Persistent Plasma field), Lok-1 (T3A & T5A), Breach Cutter (direct damage & Plasma Trail), and Bulldog (Volatile Bullets) all benefit from the lowered enemy elemental resistance.
Primary: 22122 Conductive Thermals
Quick upgrade choice explanation:
T1B: The cooling upgrade seems to work best for stacking the debuff. It also gives you a Spitballer one-shot breakpoint with Shaped Shells after one full heat cycle (Hazard 6 4p scaling).
T2B: While ammo is an okay pick that lets you easily skip resupplies, the damage mod makes the weapon a bit more useful on its own.
T4B: Plasma Splash is extremely important for this build, as it allows you to stack the debuff twice as fast. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to pop breakable weakpoints.
Boomstick isn't the only Scout secondary that can benefit from Conductive Thermals; by swapping Plasma Splash for the T4A electric mod, you can also boost the damage of Zhukovs (T5A). Expect a video on that in the near future!
Secondary: 12323 Shaped Shells
My usual Shaped Shells build. T5C converts half of Boomstick's damage to Fire type, which is boosted by the Conductive Thermals status effect.
Throwable: Voltaic Stun Sweeper
Don't laugh, this is a serious pick. The main flaw of the build is its inability to deal with Macteras, and the rangs are here to help with that.
Vanilla Enemy Adjustments, 64 Enemy Aggro Cap
