I took a perfectly fine 1999 Trek 930 Singletrack Vintage Mountain Bike, and butchered it into an atrocity! OK, ok.... it isn't that bad... it's actually PRETTY AWESOME (with the exception of the paint and welding jobs)!
I was, of course, inspired by all the wonderful and talented people on YouTube, who do such great Vintage MTB Renovations... some of those videos are even relaxing to watch and have a calming effect. Not mine, though... but hey, I tried.
Being that I've only been mountain biking for about 7 years, I've been spoiled with modern mountain biking trends... like 1x Drivetrains and Dropper Posts... And while I didn't put a dropper post on this bike (I would if I could have found one), I did put a fantastic 1x Drivetrain to replace the lame 3x Drivetrain (sorry, Vintage Bike Lovers... but I hate front derailleurs).
The Box Four, 8 speed Drivetrain is super smooth... I didn't even have to index the gears after installing it.
You can get 15% off Box Components by using DISCOUNT CODE: DUANEger15 on BoxComponents.com.
I also love the Zoom brakes.... of course they're not on the same level as my Magura MT7's (my favorite brakes)... but they ARE great budget brakes that get the job done... much better than the original rim brakes.
Soon, I'll include links to all the parts I used in this description.
Thanks for watching.
