Music for a While [ Henry Purcell ] : Student singing recital . Grace Lim . Singapore

Super thrilled and grateful to be able to perform “Music for a while” which was written during the Baroque period by Henry Purcell as incidental music for the play Oedipus, written by John Dryden and Nathaniel Lee.
My uncle introduced this piece to me last year and i was immediately captivated by the evocative and mysterious music and lyrics . It talks about the power of music so much so that the priest uses it to calm the ghost Alecto.
So here I am playing the role of the narrator as well as the priestess.
In place of a hooded cape, i used a veil to create the atmosphere. I hope the audience was able to feel the emotion.
