This video focuses on one of the three Gap Theory principles. Creating Mismatches. We break down how to recognize and take advantage of personnel mismatches during the game.
We talk about how the NBA is the main place that we see mismatches being highlighted in basketball today, but how the opportunity to create easy shots are available at every level when there's an understanding of how it works.
The two main ways to create mismatches are 1. Organically - this typically happens in transition when the defense doesn't have the luxury of easily getting back to their matchup. 2. Screening - and we focus on how ballscreens create mismatches when teams decide to switch them.
