These images show Russian soldiers on a battlefield being hit by Ukrainian ordnance and picked off one by one.

The video shows a number of explosions on an already pockmarked battlefield, with a number of Russian soldiers pinned down and being picked off one by one in a series of explosions as their position is apparently shelled.

They can be seen attempting to retreat, some of them injured, with one apparently trying to carry an injured comrade.

The images were obtained from the 8th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Thursday, 6th July, along with a statement saying: "The occupier got lost in our fields."

The images and statement were also relayed by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia has claimed that its casualties have been much lower but provides infrequent updates on its latest figures.

United Nations (UN) observers have asked for more access to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Europe’s largest, after Russia and Ukraine traded accusations regarding a potential “catastrophic” act of sabotage.

The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Wednesday that they had not yet seen any indication of mines or explosives but asked for greater access to the nuclear power plant.

US President Joe Biden has told the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, that he is “looking forward” to the country becoming a member of NATO.

The UN is making “every effort” to make sure that the Black Sea grain deal is extended.

Rebeca Grynspan, the UN trade chief, said: “We need both to continue bringing down prices and have stable markets of food and fertilisers in the world.”

Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, said while speaking in Warsaw with the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, that next week’s NATO summit must offer “real security guarantees” to Ukraine.

A medical facility and residential buildings have been damaged by a Russian missile attack on the city of Druzhkivka, in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.

The Russian regions of Kursk and Belgorod came under fire from Ukrainian forces across the border early on Wednesday morning, according to the regions’ Russian governors.
