Here is a fast way to make mortice and tenon with table saw and router.
No need for chisel.
Clamp a high stop block to the fence of cross cut sled. Use the stop block to keep the pieces vertical to the saw blade. The piece being cut can be clamped to the fence or to the stop block. Clamping to stop block gave more constant width of tenon. It worked good and was fast. I cut about 20 tenons and the width was consistent within 0.005"
I used a 24 tooth flat top grind blade. Dado blade would have avoided the need to take multiple passes.
The mortices are made a little longer than the tenons. The mortice ends are left round. The square tenons are driven into the round end mortices, which acts like a clamp, while the glue dries.
