বাজারটি অবস্থিত ঢাকা-সিলেট মহাসড়কের পার্শ্বে সুতরাং আপনারা বাংলাদেশের যে কোন প্রান্ত থেকে এখানে আসতে পারবেন খুব সহজে। উত্তর বঙ্গ ও দক্ষিণ বঙ্গের মানুষ প্রথামে ঢাকায় আসবেন তার সায়দাবাদ/যাত্রাবাড়ি থেকে সিলেটেরি/ভৈরবের বাসে শেখেরচর/বাবুরহাট আসবেন।

Wholesalers from different districts come here and buy clothes at wholesale rates. And they sell to retail stores in their district. Earlier name of Shekerchar market is “Baburhat” most people know this market as Baburhat.

Shekerchar/Baburhat Bazar is located at Shekerchar on Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Sadar Thana of Narsingdi District, Dhaka Division.

What clothes are available in Shekerchar/Baburhat market?
Printed sarees, printed three-pitch, printed two-pitch, printed-one-pitch, white cotton, lungis (Amanat Shah, Standard, Bokhari, Fajr Ali, etc. and many other unnamed brands of lungis are available in this market.) Gauze cloth: - Various fabrics are available including print gauze fabric, voile, poplin, bexi voile, pakija, digital print fabric.

How to come to this market?
The market is located on the side of Dhaka-Sylhet highway so you can come here from any part of Bangladesh very easily. People from North Bengal and South Bengal will usually come to Dhaka from Syedabad/Jatrabari by bus from Sileteri/Bhairab to Shekerchar/Baburhat.
