Black History Month 2025 – Standing Firm in Power and Pride
October is Black History Month and this year’s theme is Standing Firm in Power and Pride which is a tribute to the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community. It highlights the profound contributions made by Black people throughout history. Whilst also looking forward towards future of empowerment, unity, and growth.
During this month we will be releasing podcasts from several Black colleagues speaking about their lived experience. We hope these podcasts will increase understanding, foster good relations, and inspire our Black colleagues to stand firm in their own power and pride and reach for every opportunity they can.
Our first guest is Bart Nyathi one of our talented nurses in A&E who qualified in September 2024 having first started at ASPH as a healthcare support worker.
