WestJet WS2276 Landing Incident at St Maarten SXM on 9/7/2025

A WestJet Boeing 737-8 arriving from Toronto experienced a hard landing at SXM with possibly a wing or engine strike on the runway. Our first video clip includes that sound just after the jet passed our camera. Later video shows what appears to be the right engine sitting on the runway, suggesting some form of gear collapse or failure.

Unfortunately, poor visibility at our elevated island cam obscured response events and evacuation after the plane had stopped on the runway. Those moments are not included in this video. Later clips show evacuation chutes deployed and emergency response vehicles around the aircraft.

Crackling sound is a chronic microphone fault and unrelated. Apologies.
