I know xxx is a very controversial figure and I in no way forgive or condone his actions and wrongdoings, but I do believe that he was trying to better himself. I think it's important to be able to separate the art from the artist, especially when their work connected and resonated with so many people. His music was so emotionally charged and even hauntingly beautiful, it's rare that you find songs that evoke such a strong emotional reaction from people and that's exactly what his work did. The pain and suffering of imperfect individuals is something that has birthed the greatest works of art for generations. Who am I to tell you who you can or can not listen to when a piece of art can (or perhaps already has) impact you so profoundly. I was saddened and disappointed when I found out about his past indiscretions but I just couldn't shake how his music impacted me. I deplore the actions people have alleged against him but also recognize that art takes its own form when it's released into the world, almost separating from the artist themselves. It can hold meaning in ways that the artist possibly never even intended. The whole issue is very confusing and honestly difficult to speak on since I see the point in both sides. I doubt anyone reads these blurbs I put in but if you do I'm sorry for the rant, this topic has just been on my mind a lot lately.
