"Well, today we're following the yellow brick road. We're off to see the wizard and just have a good time and go over the rainbow and kind of let all of our fantasies leash out and get out there. It's kind of, it's sports, it's active, it's fashion; it's fun; it's sequins; it's neon, it's colour, it's glitter, it's glue sticks, it's break-dancing, it's raving. It's so much at one time that it all makes sense."

RICH AND RAINS FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD
Some wouldn't exactly call it fashion, but it's still one of the hardest invitations to come by during New York fashion week. The Heatherette show entitled "Over The Rainbow", on Tuesday (February 6), was not so much about the clothes, designed by Richie Rich and Traver Rains, it was more about the party.
Throngs of near-hysterical people waved meaningless pieces of white paper in the faces of security guards on the steps outside of the tents at Bryant Park on Tuesday night, the site of many shows during New York fashion week. But that wasn't enough to get them past the barricades and into the Heatherette show, which has become one of the most circus-like shows on the fashion calendar.
A front row consisting of Amber Tamblyn, Kelly Rowland, Cuba Gooding Jr., JC Chasez, Kimberly Stewart, Vivica A. Fox and Alan Cumming looked on as the models "followed the yellow brick road."
Designer Richie Rich explained:
"Well, today we're following the yellow brick road. We're off to see the wizard and just have a good time and go over the rainbow and kind of let all of our fantasies leash out and get out there. It's kind of, it's sports, it's active, it's fashion; it's fun; it's sequins; it's neon, it's colour, it's glitter, it's glue sticks, it's break-dancing, it's raving. It's so much at one time that it all makes sense."
Muse Lydia Hearst came out in a Dorothy-inspired blue gingham tulip baby-doll dress and ruby red slippers, and Baby Phat designer and former model Kimora Lee Simmons also hit the catwalk on behalf of the boys who've been at it since 1999.
Reportedly throngs of people with invitations were turned away, Britney Spears was in the house, and the first male model to hit the end of the runway turned around and flashed the spectators.
In the world of Heatherette, another successful New York Fashion Week.
