London Chess Classics Preperation | this game SHOOK my selfconfidence

In this video, I continue my preparation for the London Chess Classic 2025.

I start with a few chess puzzles as a warm-up before training. They’re good for getting into the right mindset and sharpening calculation before a longer study session.

After that, I go through one of my recent classical FIDE games that lasted almost five hours. I look at a few key moments — the opening plan, a mistake in the middlegame, and how the position simplified into a rook endgame. I talk through what I was thinking and what I should have done differently.

At the end, I study a game from Practical Chess Strategy by Julian Arizmendi, featuring Abdul Sattarov vs Esipenko. It’s an example of how to attack a weakened king in a sharp position, and it fits well with the themes I’ve been working on in my own preparation.

This video is part of my chess training vlog ahead of the London Chess Classic. I share real games, puzzles, and lessons from training to improve and prepare for over-the-board tournaments.
