German Design Awards 2025 Jury Session – Interview with Julie Hjort

At the jury session of the German Design Awards 2025, we interviewed our jury members on the potential and defining criteria of successful design.

Julie Hjort, Director of Sustainable Transformation at Danish Design Centre, emphasised participatory, co-creative and user-centric design approaches in this context. As she explains, design is in direct contact with people, their senses, feelings and needs. This is why design has such transformative capacity.
