I've just returned from an incredible five-day journey into the heart of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) in Maharashtra, and I'm still buzzing. This isn't just any national park; Tadoba is often called the "Land of the Tigers," and it's renowned for having one of the highest tiger densities in India!
Named after the local tribal deity, Taru, and the beautiful Andhari river that flows through its landscape, TATR is a captivating mosaic of dry deciduous forest, with dense teak and bamboo groves, rolling hills, and life-giving perennial lakes like Tadoba Lake. This rich ecosystem is the perfect backdrop for its incredible wildlife.
