David Renteria is said to be a man of imagination. He has the ingenuity to bring a vision to life, in a manner that is breathtaking as well as unbelievable. His hands are his tools and his mind is his pallet; David Renteria has the capability to create anything that is humanly possible for the mind to ever consider. Renteria has been practicing his craft for 25 years. He has perfected his talent in a way that he refers to it as his own unique style. His designs are created from his mind and then transformed into a visual art form. He began to develop an interest in the art of engraving when he once observed an artist busy at this scrupulous craft. It was at the Pico Rivera Lowrider Show when he witnessed an artist engraving designs onto a beautiful vehicle. He couldn't believe that someone was allowed to do this type of work on such a stunning car. David began to move closer to the artwork and he noticed that the designs weren't as detailed as he imagined it could have been; since it was being displayed on such an eye-catching vehicle. While he inquired about the artist engraving skills, the artist felt as though David was trying to challenge him as well as his technique. "Well do you think you could ever do better," says the artist to David Renteria. From then on Renteria made it a point to prove to himself as well as to others that he could undeniably do better. With hard work and determination, Renteria has, therefore, turned a simple observation into a passion that he has been practicing for 20 years, and is considered to be one of the best master engravers in the world. Having said that, David's unique talent has led him to create award-winning designs on custom made lowriders as well as other vehicles. His work is so well-known that fans all over the country have requested for David's artwork to be either displayed on their rides, inside their homes, as well as create custom glass sculptures for all to admire. Every design that he creates is considered to be one of his best. "Every piece of glass or metal that I touch is a Picasso to me," says Renteria. "Each metal has its own sense of courage and personality. I feel that I can call myself a true artist." With that being said, David has completed many large and intricate projects. For instance, he has done work for Lowrider Magazine, West Coast Customs, Jesse James, Jamie Foxx, the band Def Leppard, as well as creating a glass stairway full of dolphins at a home in Marina Del Rey. Renteria's style is definitely one that has no comparison. His work is so meticulous that he gives every piece of art a type of character as well as individuality that by one glance, it looks as if it has the ability to come to life.
