Talk: “Functional Safety in the Automotive Chip Industry”
In recent years, the automotive industry has faced serious safety challenges, such as large-scale vehicle recalls caused by hidden safety risks in key components. Traditional systems like steering or braking can fail catastrophically if critical chips malfunction.
To address these issues, the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Standard has become a cornerstone of modern automotive design. It defines how safety should be managed throughout the automotive electronics supply chain, from chip design to vehicle integration.
In this talk, Wu Wang will discuss how functional safety impacts the design, verification, and manufacturing of automotive chips, and how engineers ensure reliability and safety at every stage of development. The session will also explore how functional safety requirements shape semiconductor design processes and influence the future of automotive technology.
