Timelapse of auroras dancing above the River Ounasjoki in Tapionkylä, Rovaniemi, on the night of October 16–17, 2025. The calm autumn night brought beautiful northern lights that shimmered and pulsed over the calm river landscape lighting up the Lapland sky.
As there’s a road on the opposite side of the river, occasional car light trails add an extra layer of interest to the scene, blending human presence with the stillness of nature.
Captured with Sony A7R V and Sony A7 IV, this timelapse combines the peaceful atmosphere of rural Rovaniemi with the dynamic motion of the Arctic night sky.
