2. Modes of Travel from Katra to Bhawan
The trek begins at Ban Ganga, which is about 1.5 km from the Katra bus stand.
• Trekking (Walking): The most common and spiritual way. The 13 km trek takes about 5-8 hours uphill.
• Ponies / Palkis / Pitthoos: Services for pilgrims who cannot walk.
• Ponies carry adults.
• Palkis (palanquins) carry pilgrims.
• Pitthoos are porters for luggage and small children.
