Forestry Authority accuses URA officials of facilitating illegal timber business

There seems to be a standoff between the National Forest Authority and the Uganda Revenue Authority with the forest authority accusing revenue officials of claiming illegal timber between the border of Uganda and South Sudan.
A law enforcement officer of NFA says officials of the tax body is issuing clearing papers for endangered tree species, cut from Uganda, claiming the trees are from South Sudan.
Addressing Journalists this morning, the acting Executive Director of NFA, Paul Buyerah Musamali, also announced plans to start planting 37 million trees across the country in August this year.
