Malappuram district is famous for Arabic Kerala Fusion. However, in this video, we are covering Malappuram Evening Snacks, Ooty Chaya (Ooty Tea), and Avil Milk. We started off from Perinthalmanna where we enjoyed Avil Milk and Sugar Cane Juice. When I started the day, I decided that my day was to be dedicated to all kinds of drinks, ranging from tea and avil milk to some refreshing juices. I had a few friends with me to explore the culinary world of Malappuram. Our first stop was at a shop that sold avil milk. Their main drink was cane juice, but we were in a mood for the filling and delicious avil milk. Avil milk is a drink that has flattened rice, milk, and sugar with many other combinations. It comes in many varieties such as fruit, boost, special, and a lot more. I tried a special one and relished it totally.
Moving forward from Avil milk, we stopped at a shop selling tea and snacks. My main agenda was to taste the Ooty chaya, which is a thick masala tea. But the long line of fried snacks was so tempting that we ended up ordering quite a few of them. We ordered quail eggs coated with masala, chicken samosa and elanchi for a sweet touch. All the snacks were very delicious. Although it was an accidental discovery, we were thoroughly satisfied.
Last in our food hunt, or rather drink hunt, was a juice center that served juices in jumbo sizes. We ordered a liter of fig and kiwi juices. It came in a glass that left me confused. How could I finish the whole? So we asked the shop owner to transfer it to two glasses so that we could share. He was happy to oblige to the requests of his customers. I had fig juice, while my friend tasted kiwi. It was delicious, but heavy on the tummy.
