Ever heard of a football crest featuring a wind turbine? No? Well, now you know of at least one.
Nestled in the hills just next to our Knockawarriga Wind Farm in Co Limerick, you’ll find Mountcollins AFC – a soccer club that's one of the beneficiaries of our Community Benefit Fund. They've become so strongly associated with Knockawarriga that they've even included a wind turbine in their club crest.
Mountcollins AFC is one of many good neighbours of our 21 onshore wind farms in Ireland. When developing a new wind farm, we invest not only in renewable energy, but also in the localities in which we work. We believe in giving back to those living in our communities, who we view as partners in our work – by engaging with our landowners and operating our benefit fund for local organisations.
