Polaroid: Pictures in under 15 minutes! Using photographic paper. With Polaroid and Fuji discontinuing their pack film it's fun to try an alternate process, though a little more complicated! In this video, I demonstrate how to use photographic paper to take photos with a Polaroid pack film camera.
In the video, I mention "flashing" the paper before exposing it. In order to determine the correct exposure to flash the paper, do a test strip with 1 or 2 second intervals, develop it, and note the longest time where the paper is still white. Then note the position of the enlarger and the f stop of the lens. Flashing the paper increases the sensitivity and the dynamic range. Without flashing, the paper will have a very narrow dynamic range, which might be OK if your subject is low in contrast.
Check out my previous video on the principles of how to do this, including how to create a neutral density filter so that the camera takes the photo with the correct exposure, cutting the paper the right size, and loading the cartridge.
