Wishful Thinking (Solitude in E Minor) - Clarinet Quartet

I meant to upload this in April but now it's ready. I created my own arrangement for Wishful Thinking. It's my first time doing notation like this so sorry if there's any glaring mistakes. If enough people like it, I'll upload the sheet music for it too!

I really appreciate these kind comments. This song is originally called "Wishful Thinking" composed by Richard Myhill. He has done other songs for Spongebob Squarepants too. When I first heard it, although it's a short solo clarinet piece, I thought it was very charming. I wanted to make a quartet for it. I tried to arrange it in a way where each part had movement. It could have been very simple to have 1st part play the melody and the other parts play half and whole notes, but it would be too easy and not fun to play. Arranging it in the way I did, it's a little more engaging. I also love dissonance chords that resolve and sound very beautiful, so that was a goal when arranging it. I'm not an expert in music composition, but your kind comments give me confidence to keep learning and trying!

"This song is not in E minor"
This song is originally titled "Wishful Thinking." So I believe Squidward calling it "Solitude in E Minor" was just a funny title that the writers thought of since it sounds like a depressing title for someone like Squidward to play. That being said, "Wishful Thinking" is in concert F Major and its relative minor is concert D Minor. In the context of the clarinet, which is a Bb instrument, "Wishful Thinking" is in G Major and its relative minor is E Minor, funny enough.


100k views update: To be honest, I didn't expect this video to get this many views. I'm glad you guys are still watching it. For the longest time, I didn't like how it sounded because volume leveling is off. Despite the flaws in the sound, I'm glad to see you guys still enjoy my performance and my composition!
