This collection of over 150 common English expressions, idioms and phrasal verbs is valuable for when you need more than just good grammar. Non-native English speakers, even those at an advanced level, who have an extensive vocabulary and whose grammar is accurate, often face a challenge in understanding and using 'everyday English'. This is because the language contains so many chunks' of words strung together in ways that knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is not always helpful in understanding. These include idioms, phrasal verbs and collocations.
The expressions are grouped by theme. Each has an explanation of the meaning and an amusing dialogue to show its usage in conversation.
By the way, the book title, "You Can Say That Again" is a common English expression. When you say it in reply to what someone has said to you, you, it does not mean you are suggesting they repeat it. It means that you are in complete agreement. It is often used ironically!
