The washer method is introduced and used to find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region enclosed by y=x and y=x^2 about the line x=1. A ballpark estimate is first found and the washer method is introduced as an infinite sum, which is translated into an integral. The integral must be integrated with respect to y.
