Fixing the Game for Simmers or for Sales?

The Sims 4 team has released multiple statements stating their intentions of fixing the multiple bugs in the sims 4. Considering a new pack is due to be released in a few weeks, is this a scheme to get more sales or an honest effort in fixing the game?
