Our first stop is at Slamič Wines, a family-run winery that perfectly captures the tradition and spirit of the Kras. Here, I had the chance to sample delicious wines made from local grapes, including the famous Teran. The winemakers shared their passion, their history, and what makes wine from this region so unique.

🏰 Štanjel
Next, I explored Štanjel, one of the most magical medieval towns in Slovenia. Perched on a hilltop, Štanjel is full of narrow cobbled streets, old stone houses, and incredible views of the Karst landscape. I wandered through the village, admired Ferrari’s Garden, and soaked in the timeless charm that makes this place feel like stepping back in history.

To end the day, I visited St. Daniel Restaurant in Štanjel, which is truly a hidden gem. With its cozy atmosphere and focus on local ingredients, the restaurant brings the flavors of the Kras to life. Every dish tells a story of tradition, seasonality, and creativity — making it a meal to remember.
