Morwel Ater Morwel is an elder with a fascinating story that could inspire many young individuals. Born in Apukjowiir, Morwel began his education at bush schools during some of the most tumultuous times in South Sudan's history. Despite attending classes in his village, Morwel went to the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, for his higher education. Alongside his studies and work, Morwel, a talented Dinka poet, pursued his passion for teaching the Dinka language. On 26 February, I, Ajak Deng Chiengkou, had the privilege of sitting down with him for an exclusive interview about his life and the Dinka ways of life. Here is part one of his story.
