I have been working out at the gym during busier times due to some changes in my schedule. I usually do a good job of not getting distracted, but this was a different time of the day and I began people-watching examining their bad form and gym behaviors. In my observance, I have noticed a lot of similar behavioral patterns people frequently display that gives away their training age and experience level.

Below are some of the more common signs that show someone needs help and a training plan. I hope you don’t meet any of these.

1) Talking for a long time

2) Avoiding strength training

3) Exercising random

4) Misusing equipment

5) Inconsistence

If you meet all or most of the tell-tale signs, then you should seek some help in getting a trainer or a professionally written training plan so that you can make gains and achieve your fitness goals.

Free Workout:

General Warm up:
Air Dyne Bike – 5-10 min

Active Warm up:
Jumping Jacks 2x20
Bodyweight Squats 2x10
Lunges 2x10
Front Plank 2x20sec

Main Workout:
A. Hex Bar Deadlift 3x8 – Rest 90sec
B. Angled Leg Press 3x10 – Rest 90sec
C1. Lat Pulldown 3x10 – Rest 75sec [go to exercise C2, then repeat both]
C2. Machine Chest Press 3x10 – Rest 75sec
D. Hanging Leg Raise 3x12 – Rest 1min

Cardio: Optional
Battle Ropes or Cardio Row – 5 rounds 20 seconds
