Amid smoking rubble Queen Hecuba learns her daughters’ grim fates, Cassandra raves of Agamemnon’s murder and Odysseus’s cursed wanderings, and Andromache’s baby Astyanax is hurled from the walls. Helen faces Menelaus’s cold justice as Troy burns, its women marched to slavery while the gods plot bitter revenge.
