Easy Rich & Silky Caramel Flan
Ingredients
• Custard: 8 large egg yolks, 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk, 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk, and 1 tbsp vanilla extract.
• Caramel: ¾ cup granulated sugar.
Instructions
• Caramelize: Melt the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns a deep golden amber. Quickly pour it into your baking mold, tilting to coat the bottom evenly.
• Mix: Whisk the egg yolks, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and vanilla together until smooth. For the silkiest texture, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into the caramelized mold.
• Bake: Place the mold in a water bath (bain-marie) and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50–60 minutes until the edges are set but the center still has a slight jiggle.
• Cool & Chill: Let the flan rest at room temperature for 30–60 minutes. Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 3–4 hours (overnight is best) to allow the custard to set and the caramel to liquefy.
• Serve: Run a thin knife around the edges, place a rimmed plate on top, and swiftly invert. The caramel sauce will flow over the sides for a perfect finish. 🥰 "Serve and enjoy"
