The propane sensor in a Camper/RV/Travel-Trailer is a bit of safety kit that alarms when it detects propane in the air, warning you of a potential leak. They are good for 5 years then they alarm with a red-red-green-green indicating that it has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced. This is an easy DIY.

I use the "retail package opener" a lot, its a small hook blade that won't cut you but does a nice job on tape for boxes and plastic clamshell & vacuuformed packaging.
