In this week’s video, I discuss how we can integrate healthy attachment in our lives while simultaneously upholding a deep commitment to Buddhist philosophy and practice. At face value, it may seem like this is an incompatible and inconceivable thing to try and achieve.
But in this week’s video, I talk about the science behind why healthy social connection is so important not only for our ongoing wellbeing, but also out neurodevelopment and our ability to stay on the eightfold path. I draw on evidence from developmental and evolutionary psychology and ethology to support my points.
Finally, I underscore the importance of maintaining presence as a litmus test for whether a relationship in your life is reflecting your best self, or whether it is muddying the reflection, making you question who you are or causing you to feel lost.
