Everyone brushes their teeth twice a day and wears a seatbelt in the car. But can we say the same thing about the Internet? Are we doing what is necessary to secure our private data when we surf the Internet?
Frédéric Rivain, CTO of a password manager, warns us about the potentially disastrous consequences of our negligence in terms of cybersecurity. Why not adopt the same habits as for our dental hygiene? Instead of accepting the risk of hacking as inevitable, we could implement a disciplined routine. Of course, using a password manager independent of web giants like Google, or preferring Signal to WhatsApp, won't remove all risks. But if everyone adopts such habits, the Internet will become significantly safer.
Frédéric Rivain is convinced of this. He personally works on developing simple solutions for users.
Frederic Rivain is a passionate CTO, who joined a password manager company after several years working in Gaming, Gambling and eCommerce. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
