Mohmand Dam Latest Update 2025 |Current Construction Status |

Mohmand Dam (also known as Munda Dam) is currently Pakistan's second-largest under-construction dam and will become the country's 5th largest upon completion. Located on the Swat River in Mohmand District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, this multi-purpose project will generate 800 MW of clean, low-cost electricity, store 1.29 million acre-feet (MAF) of water, irrigate over 18,000 acres of new land, supply 300 million gallons of clean drinking water daily to Peshawar, and provide complete flood protection against disasters like the 2010 floods.

As of November 2025, remarkable progress has been achieved:
Main dam body concrete work: 20% complete
Power intake & headrace tunnel: 70% complete
Tailrace channels & 135 km 220 kV transmission line: 60% complete
Overall project progress: 45–50% complete
