How difficult would it be for you to do daily activities if you fracture your leg? Now imagine, apart from the physical hindrances created by your hurt leg, people around you start creating obstacles?
Being affected with disability is one challenge but a bigger issue is how we are continuously creating an inaccessible infrastructure to impede their daily lives.
All these issues can be solved if we take a conscious look at their situation and try to create an inclusive environment. Dr. Aakanksha Gupta is a physician and a business enthusiast. She holds a coveted MBBS degree and a postgraduate degree in Healthcare Management IIM, Calcutta. She is currently serving as the Director at Delhi’s largest diagnostic centre—Must & More. She is also the Vice President-Media and Communications at S.K. Educations Pvt. Ltd. Besides, she is the Project Coordinator at Hum Honge Kamyab (HHK) Foundation and strives to raise awareness about disabilities among the general public.
Dr. Aakanksha Gupta was born to Ajay Gupta and Deepshikha Gupta, who are both Polio patients. Dr. Aakanksha Gupta inherited her fierce spirit from her parents and developed it immensely.
Dr. Aakanksha Gupta remained steadfast in her support of the family business and continues to be so. She is making phenomenal efforts to integrate basic concepts related to preventive healthcare. She also authored “First Aid Handbook” to create awareness about how to respond to emergency situations in an effective manner. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
