Exeter St Davids (one of three stations within Exeter City Centre) is on the Great Western Mainline between London and Plymouth/Penzance as well as being on the Devon local lines, these being the branch lines towards Paignton, Barnstaple and Exmouth,
The station is managed by Great Western Railway and sees regular GWR services throughout the day heading to long distance services towards: Penzance, Plymouth, Bristol, Cardiff and London Paddington via Reading. these being operated by at the time of most recent filming Class 800-802 Diesel Electric Multiple Units however before this were operated by Class 43 High Speed Train.
Local GWR services towards Barnstaple, Oakenhampton, Exmouth and Paignton are operated using Class 150/158/165 and Class 166 Diesel Multiple Units
Cross Country also operate services through Exeter St Davids to destinations across England and even Scotland using Class 43 High Speed Trains and also Class 220/221 Diesel Multiple Units
In addition to all of this South Western Railway also start/termiamnte here on their London Waterloo via Salisbury services which runs every couple of hours in each direction, all these services are operated using Class 158/159 Diesel Multiple Units that have been adapted for long distance services,
