I Found The Most Beautiful Temple In The Japanese Mountains

During my last trip to Japan, I had the chance to visit the temple that appears in the movie "The Last Samurai". This temple that is called Engyo-ji, is located in the mountain over Himeji, in Japan. This place was amazing and if you are lucky, you may even see the Himeji castle from one of the view points!

I had a relaxing (almost meditative) time walking through the forest of mount Shosha, contemplating the many statues along the path and enjoying the stunning view of the surrounding landscape. It was so peaceful and not crowded at all.

The main goal was to visit the Engyoji temple, but I found many other interesting things to discover around there: different temples and statues, a nice forest path and I also enjoyed stopping at the small shop before the temple to enjoy a delicious udon noodle dish!
