Length of the preview is due to me loving this song and our practice of having everything loop twice in previews (most of the time). I first heard this song in a Final Fantasy fangame called FInal Fantasy: Endless Nova, which was a fun time with some interesting location designs. In that game, it was called "Last Ride", but the credits were still in the midi file.
It was composed in 1995 by Dutch composer Edwin R. van Veldhoven. The original instrumentation is a little different, the guitars are an octave up of where they are in this rendition, but it sounded off for some reason otherwise. The loop point isn't great and probably could be cleaner.
A little surprised this plays in FE8 as cleanly as it does, but this is just the soundroom, after all. Not sure where it'd be used other than a late game base camp or for the ending slides. -C
Imported instruments;
A bowed acoustic guitar from FF6advance.
A synth string from FE6
A tubular bell from FF6advance (because FE8's is kinda awful)
I think one of the tambourines is from FE6 also.
Edwin's site, which has some genuinely interesting bits on the history of MIDI in the Netherlands: http://www.alternatievewiskunde.nl/wa...
ROM is a sandbox rom one half of this channel is playing with. If anyone really wants the .s file for this we'll share it.
