Welcome to the CRC’s Pocket Prairie Webinar! Our mission at Cumberland River Compact is to help provide you with the tools needed to become smart, impactful stewards of our watershed. This is a helpful tool to understand how to build and maintain your native Pocket Prairie. Native species of grasses, shrubs, and flowers have deeper roots which are better suited for water absorption than commonly used turf grass. Pocket prairies are a great way to build a native lawn that serves a multipurpose function for improving water infiltration, attracting pollinators, and creating a beautiful space that reduces the need for mowing.
